The NOC has been developed and maintained as part of a collaborative partnership between Employment and Social Development Canada and Statistics Canada. This classification reflects ongoing occupational research and consultation to incorporate information on new occupations.

 

Skill Types:

0 – Management

1 – Business, Finance, Administration

2 – Natural and applied sciences

3 – Health

4 – Law, Social, Community and Government services, Education

5 – Art, Culture, Recreation, Sports

6 – Sales, Services

7 – Trades, Transport, Equipment operations

8 – Natural resources, Agriculture, Production

9 – Manufacturing, Utilities

 

Skilled Levels and Examples:

0 – Management experience

A – Professionals (university trained)

B – Technical and skilled trades (college / skills trained)

C – Intermediate jobs (secondary school / specific training)

D – Labour jobs (on-the-job training)
